Program Withdraw/Refund Guidelines

Withdrawal Prior to the Start of the Program

Students who commit to a program will be charged a non-refundable and non-transferrable NMSU Education Abroad Program Placement Fee and a FLIP Program Fee. Once the minimum enrollment for a FLIP has been reached, a program “Confirmed Full” notification will be sent to the student’s NMSU email address. Students who withdraw prior to the “Confirm-Full” notice will receive a 100% refund of the FLIP Program Fee. The Education Abroad Program Placement Fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Students who withdraw after the “Confirm-Full” notice will not receive a refund for the FLIP Program Fee unless one of the following conditions are met:

  • Condition 1: An approved replacement student is found. In this case, 100% of the FLIP Program Fee is refunded, minus any unrecoverable costs. The Education Abroad Program Placement Fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

  • Condition 2: In the case of extremely serious and verifiable health matters, monies that have not been committed on behalf of the student, minus the non-refundable and non-transferrable Education Abroad Placement Fee, may be refunded according to the withdraw policy of the on-site logistics provider.

If the program does not meet minimum enrollment requirements, no fees are charged to students.

Withdrawal After the Program has Started

No refunds of any kind are made once participants have arrived at the program site and begun the program, except in the case of extremely serious and verifiable health matters. In that case, monies that have not been committed on behalf of the student, minus the non-refundable and non-transferrable Education Abroad Placement Fee, may be refunded according to the withdraw policy of the on-site logistics provider.
