EXCHANGES & OTHER
PROGRAMS (Quick
List of Programs Normally Available)
New Mexico students who attend institutions
that are members of the NM
International Education Consortium may
apply to enroll in any NMSU ISEP exchange,
bilateral exchange, ISEP-Direct, or NMSU Special
Program on a space available basis.
Students maintain their status at their home institution, but make arrangments
with NMSU for placement and administrative support. These students have
to arrange for transfer credit and financial aid with their home institution. They
have to make advanced credit card payment arrangements with NMSU to pay
for the cost of the exchange (NMSU tuition, room
and board in some cases, and insurance) and related fees and they have to complete the Study
Abroad Agreement-Guest Student and have it signed by their campus
study abroad coordinator.

INTENSIVE
LANGUAGE COURSES FOR NMSU CREDIT (Quick
list of Intensive Language Programs
Always Available)
Any student in good standing academically*
from any accredited U.S. institution may
apply to be enrolled in the Intensive
Language by Distance Education Program.
This program facilitates entry into a supervised
intensive language program for graded credit,
with on-line support and in-country instruction.
At the completion of the program, students
would receive an official NMSU transcript
to use to transfer credit to their home institution.
Currently courses in Spanish, Portuguese,
French, and Japanese are available. NMIEC
students would be admitted to NMSU non-degree,
but they would have to maintain their degree
status with their home institution to transfer
credit from NMSU and to receive their financial
aid from their home institution. *Not
on suspension or probation.
