faculty advisors about their plans and proposals, revise their
applications carefully, choose quality
study programs abroad, and have high second
language skills if required. To
keep posted on new scholarship opportunties, subscribe
to stdyabrd, a listserve service
managed by the NMSU Office of Study Abroad. |

| Are
NMSU students successful in obtaining study
abroad scholarships? |
Yes. Many
students have received scholarships
to study abroad. Contact the Assistant
Dean
for Study Abroad (646-5107
for an appointment) to discuss the scholarship
opportunties listed below that many NMSU
students have competed for successfully. Students
who have been most successful IN obtaining
scholarships that require essays have
consulted with the Assistant Dean of
Study Abroad, who will review essays
before STUDENTS submit them to award
sponsors. SOME
AWARDS, SUCH AS GILMAN AND FREEMAN, REQUIRE
