Options
The University of Alberta 2008 International Summer School Program offers several issue-oriented themes of study: Theme #1: Forestry Ecology / Environmental Sciences Field School • Theme #2: Outdoor Explorations • Theme #3: Canadian and Native Studies • Theme #4: Sport and Tourism/Recreation Management
Chances of Placement Excellent.
Eligibility
GPA 2.75+ with interest in Canadian studies or interest in the subjects offered.
Application Deadlines May 1 for summer.
Paid to NMSU
For Summer 2008: Application processing fee ($150), HTH insurance ($38 for one month; BETA if UA has required insurance program).
Paid to UA
Full cost of program plus their application fee.
Insurance HTH required.
Scholarships
UA offers $5,000 and $1,500 scholarships to NMSU students. The first qualified NMSU student who applies and is accepted into the Canadian & Native Studies Program will receive the $5,000 award, all others are eligible for the $1,500 awards.
Withdrawal Penalties
Students who have accepted the UA-ISSP placement then withdraw will be charged $200 by NMSU to recover its administrative expenses.
