Applications to U of A/Cartona are subject to
review and approval by the Office of Study Abroad
and an advertised program may be unavailable
due to imbalances in the exchange or for other
unforeseen circumstances. Program costs are subject
to change. |
| Options |
Courses
are taught in English and include History of
Renaissance Art, Roman Civilization, Roman
Archaeology and European History. Students
may also study Beginning Italian. Contact Dr.
Elizabeth Horodovich,
History Department, for advising assistance
on course selection. NMSU students are eligible
to pay University of Alberta resident student
rates for tuition. Program is offered
Spring semesters only.

of A Application for Admission and Readmission
and $100 (Canadian) application fee. Application
must be submitted to Office of Study Abroad for
endorsement and forwarding to U of A.

| Eligibility |
Must
have GPA of 2.5, provide two references from
university faculty, sophomore standing or higher
at NMSU
|
| Deadlines |
October
10 for Spring (U
of A Cartona Winter Term). NMSU's
priority administrative deadline is October
15 for Spring, after which late processing
fees apply.

to NMSU |
Administrative
fee ($200) plus cost of insurance ($36 per month). |

to UA |
Cost
of all program arrangements coordinated by U of
A's Facuty of Arts. |
| Scholarships |
Students
should apply for local, federal and private scholarships.
The IFSA scholarship may
be used for study on exchange at Cartona. U of
A may also provide scholarships.

| Withdrawal
Penalty |
Students
who have accepted the UA Cartona placement
then withdraw will be charged $200 by
NMSU to recover its administrative expenses. Other
UA Cartona penalties for unrecoverable costs
may apply for early withdrawal after accepting
placement.
