Ecology & Environmental Science & Health Studies-Belize
The following information is provided as a guide. Applications to COBEC Summer study are subject to review and approval by the Office of Study Abroad and an advertised program may be unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances. Program costs are subject to change.
Options
The Consortium for Belize Educational Cooperation (COBEC), of which NMSU is a member, is offering two summer programs in collaboration with Sacred Heart Junior College (Belize) and Georgia College and State University:

Chance of Placement Excellent for those who applied by February 1. Late applications being accepted until all places are filled.
Eligibility
GPA of 2.5 or higher with sophomore standing by summer. Program is conducted in English.
Application Deadlines February 1 for priority consideration. Late applications processed if space available.
Paid to NMSU $150 application processing fee only.
Paid to GCSU
Ecology & Environment: $4,510 covers airfare from Atlanta to Belize (students may choose to travel independently and receive a reduction from the group price), in-country transporttion, meals, housing, lecures, field excursion, insurance, GCSU tuition and fees.
Health and Society: $3,160 covers airfare from Atlanta to Belize (students may choose to travel independently and receive a reduction from the group price), in-country transporttion, most meals, housing, lecures, field excursion, insurance, GCSU tuition and fees.
Insurance Provided in the cost of the program.
Scholarships Students should apply for Mesilla Valley scholarships.
