The following information is provided as a guide. Applications to SWU Bahrom are subject to review and approval by the Office of Study Abroad and an advertised program may be unavailable due to imbalances in the exchange or for other unforeseen circumstances. Program costs are subject to change.
Options
The Bahrom International Program covers Korean Contempory Issues, Art, Language, Traditions, Film, Economics and Politics, and Religion. The program also includes group excursions and special events. NMSU students attend the program on exchange and pay a special course fee that covers tuition, room and board. NMSU students may earn 6 credits for this program. June 29-July 25, 2008.
Chances of Placement Excellent.
Eligibility GPA 2.75 with interest in Asian Studies or desire for short-term program to become acquainted with Korea.
Application Deadlines February 25 due in Office of Study Abroad.
Paid to NMSU
For Summer 2008: Application fee ($300), program fee to cover tuition, housing, meals, and excursions ($2,200), HTH insurance ($38 for one month).
Paid to SWU
Any miscellaneous costs of program arrangements organized by SWU. Students should be able to obtain a one-month tourist visa at no cost.
Insurance HTH required.
Scholarships
All students can apply for NMSU administered Colin Williamson and Mesilla Valley scholarships. The first qualified student who applies and is admitted for Summer 2008 will receive a minimum award of $500.
Withdrawal Penalties
Students who have accepted the Bahrom placement then withdraw will be charged $200 by NMSU to recover its administrative expenses.
