GRADED CREDIT STATUS DEFINED
Graded Credit status is defined as enrolling in NMSU regular or distance education courses which require part or all of the course to be completed outside the U.S. in order to receive a grade for the course. These typically include course required travel (field trips, research projects, other organized and supervised educational activities), as well as many of the intensive language programs offered in Spanish, French, Portuguese and Japanese.
    
Student Policy-international distance education classes:
Students enrolled in international distance education classes for graded credit are required to obtain travel insurance, complete WebCT orientation, and complete the NMSU Study Abroad Agreement–International Distance Education form .
Student Policy-travel course enrollment:
Students enrolled in regular courses in which traveling abroad is required to earn credit for the course(s) are required to follow the policy and procedures governing Resident Credit Programs. They are required to obtain travel insurance to cover the time abroad (including day trips to Mexico), complete health and safety orientation, and fill out the participant section of the NMSU Study Abroad Agreement–Resident Student Travel Programs form.
Employee Policy:
Employees organizing or supervising student travel as part of a regular class or as an NMSU sanctioned or financed activity are required to inform the University that currently enrolled NMSU students will be studying abroad short term or long term by filling out the Notification Section of the NMSU Study Abroad Agreement–Resident Student Travel Programs form and making sure each students fills out and signs the participant section.
For distance education for graded credit options, the course instructor signs off on Section C-International Distance Education Course Approval of the NMSU Study Abroad Agreement–International Distance Education form
