Applications to ISEP-D are subject to review
and approval by the Office of Study Abroad
and an advertised program may be unavailable
due to imbalances in the exchange or for other
unforeseen circumstances. Program costs are
subject to change.

only), Germany (Philipps-Univ Marburg only),

New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, Thailand,
and the UK.

| Eligibility |
GPA
of 2.75 (3.0 for some sites) with sophomore
standing (some sites require junior standing
and others accept graduate students). Many
programs in English, others require intermediate
or above competency in Spanish and Portuguese.
Some options for intensive Spanish, German,
and French.

Priority
deadlines for Fall start is February
1 (due in Study Abroad Office by January
28), for Spring start is September
1 (due in Study Abroad Office by August
28), for most summer programs May
1 (due in Study Abroad Office by April
27). Late applications will be considered
as long as space in a program is open and time
is available to process the application.

application fee, $500 deposit. Program fees paid
to ISEP cover tuition, orientation, student services
abroad, and in most cases room and board. $46
per month insurance fee required (sometimes host
country requires its insurance policy in lieu
of ISEP's insurance, such as in Australia, New
Zealand, and Germany). When host country insurance
is required, NMSU requires purchase of the BETA
insurance for $30.00 (valid for 12 months).

| Scholarships |
ISEP
offers Annette Kade Scholarships for
study in France and Germany and STA Travel Scholarships.
Students should also apply for local, federal and
privale scholarships. |
| Withdrawal
Penalties |
Students
who have applied to ISEP and then withdraw will
be charged $200 by NMSU to
recover its administrative costs. Students who
have accepted their placement then withdraw will
be charged $200 by NMSU to recover
its administrative expenses. Before
agreeing to accept an ISEP placement, students
must check with ISEP for current charges for
the program and obtain the Institutional Information
Sheet which describes the benefits covered by
these payments. Students who accept an academic
year placement may have to pay the entire cost
of the program if they withdraw early. Other
ISEP penalties for unrecoverable costs may apply
for early withdrawal after accepting placement.
