GROUP
& INDIVIDUAL TRAVEL PROGRAMS
ELIGIBILITY:
NMSU
faculty members often organize travel opportunities either
as a required component of a course or as an optional
activity. Travel required as part of
a course affects the receipt of credit and the grade
for the course. Optional
Travel has
no effect on grades or credit. Optional travel includes
trips to conferences for which the student is supported
financially by NMSU.
APPLICATION
DEADLINES
Contact
the group travel organizer or supervisor about
any deadlines. Students traveling in conjuction with
a course or under any kind of sponsorship by NMSU
must fill out the student participant section of
the NMSU
Study Abroad Agreement-Resident Student Travel Programs. The
NMSU employee organizing or supervising the travel
of the group will fill out the verification and notification
section. Group
Travel courses organized by the Office of Study Abroad
in cooperation with a department will have a Program
Fee assessed for the travel portion of the course
and will include a deposit, administrative fee, air
travel, housing, meals, and insurance. Group Travel
courses or other travel activities organized exclusively
by a department do not have any special fees attached
by the Office, however, all students must purchase
travel health insurance.
PROGRAM
COSTS:
Costs
are determined by type of program and vary accordingly.
Students will most likely pay for transportation,
health insurance, living expenses and incidentals.
If enrolled in a class, they should already have
paid for tuition unless the course is set up to
include tuition.
