guest students have to be interviewed in person? |
YES. Students
need to consult with the study abroad advisor
to arrange an interview with the Assistant Dean
for Study Abroad. This interview will take place

DEADLINES & LATE FEE |
| |
Does
NMSU have priority deadlines for applying and
completing requirements for study abroad? |
YES. The
Office of Study Abroad has priority
administrative deadlines by
which the guest student has to submit
an application and pay the application or processing
fee. For programs that start: Spring
Semester by October 15, Summer
I or II by May 1, Fall
Semester by May. While
applications will be considered after NMSU's
priority administrative deadlines if the host
program is still accepting them, students are
subject to late fees.
|
| |
Are
NMSU's administrative deadlines the same as
the application deadlines of the organizations
offering the study abroad program? |
NO.
Many of the organizations NMSU has partnered
with, such as ISEP, have their own application
deadlines which may be earlier than NMSU's priority
deadline. These
are noted in the program
type overview section of this web
site. Students
must apply to the program of their choice by
the host's deadline, and then complete WebCT
orientation and pay NMSU processing fees by NMSU's
priority administrative deadlines listed above.
|
| |
What
is the financial penalty for applying after the
priority admin istrative deadlines set by the
Office of Study Abroad? |
The
processing fee is increased by $50 to
cover the cost of processing applications late
and implementing the WebCT orientation program. Students
are encouraged to apply early for all programs
to increase their chances of being admitted to
the program desired and to avoid late fees.
