FEES, PAYMENTS & REFUND POLICY
FEES
What do DEIL students pay to NMSU?
Students pay NMSU a $250 non-refundable application fee and $60 per credit. They will also pay NMSU $36 per month for the required HTH travel insurance, plus any late fees that apply. Students may pay by check, money order, or credit card.
What do DEIL students pay to host language institutes?
Students will contract with the chosen Language Institute and pay for in-country instruction, housing, meals, excursions, etc.
PAYMENTS
How do DEIL students pay NMSU?
NMSU prefers payments by credit card, and the application form has a section for authorizing credit card charges. Students may pay by check and money order too. The application fee is due with the non-degree application for admission to NMSU. Since DEIL students are admitted non-degree to NMSU, their NMSU student account will be billed and they pay the NMSU cashier for the costs of tuition and travel insurance.
How do DEIL students pay host language institutes?
STUDENTS MUST VERIFY WITH THE LANGUAGE INSTITUTE FOR AN EXACT STATEMENT OF WHAT MUST BE PAID TO THEM. THEY MUST ALSO DETERMINE WITH THEM THE SCHEDULE AND METHOD OF PAYMENT.
REFUNDS
Is the $250 application fee refundable?
No.
  Is NMSU course tuition refundable?
NO. STUDENTS MUST BE CERTAIN THAT THEY WANT TO ENROLL IN THESE COURSES SINCE THE SPECIAL RATES DO NOT ALLOW FOR REFUNDS.
  Is the health insurance refundable?
YES. Students who purchased HTH insurance through NMSU may be considered for rerfund of the unused portion of insurance if they withdraw early from the program and depart the host country. THE OFFICE OF STUDY ABROAD MUST BE NOTIFIED IN WRITING (E-MAIL ACCEPTABLE). Those who purchased HTH through NRCSA need to discuss the refund policy with them.
