Are
affiliated intensive language institutes campuses
of NMSU? |
|
No. Institutes
used by NMSU for distance education language
study are in no way part of New Mexico State
University. NMSU agrees to allow students to
study languages with them with the expectation
of receiving graded NMSU credit upon successful
completion of a course of approved study. Students
studying at these sites do so at their own
initiative, risk, and financial obligation. By
signing the NMSU Language Credit via
Distance Education Application, students
acknowledge the independent relationship of
these institutes.

Can
NMSU place a hold on release of transcripts for
non-payment to host institutes? |
Yes. A
hold will be placed on the release of transcripts
for language credit via distance education should
a student fail to settle agreed upon financial
obligations to NMSU and/or to a host institution.
It is important for the good will of our affiliates
that students settle all financial obligations
with NMSU and the host institute.

Will
NMSU resolve student disputes with private contractors? |
No.
Students may enter into various private contracts
for housing, meals, and other items, in order
to study abroad. NMSU cannot directly assist
students with the resolution of contract disputes
that arise with private contractors. Students
should contact the host program administrators
for assistance with resolving these disputes
according to the laws in effect in the local
area.
