Are
affiliated study abroad sites contracted campuses
of NMSU? |
|
No. Universities
and institutes used by NMSU for transfer credit
or distance education study abroad are in no
way part of New Mexico State University. NMSU
agrees to allow students to study abroad with
the expectation of receiving transfer credit
or graded NMSU credit upon successful completion
of a course of approved study. Students studying
at these sites do so at their own initiative,
risk, and financial obligation. By
signing the Acceptance of Terms of Agreement
of an NMSU Study Abroad Agreement, students acknowledge
the independent relationship of these affiliated
universities and institutes.

Does
NMSU have contractural relations with any affiliated
programs? |
Yes.
NMSU has entered into some agreements for exchange
programs (such as ISEP) that obligate the university
to monitor that benefits (such as tuition waivers,
housing, and meal plans) are provided as designated
in the agreements. NMSU will assist students with
resolving problems related to receiving these contracted
benefits only.

Will
NMSU Resolve Student Disputes with Private Contractors? |
No.
NMSU students enter into various private contracts
for instruction, housing, meals, and other benefits,
in order to study abroad. NMSU cannot directly
assist students with the resolution of contract
disputes that arise with private contractors. Students
should contact the host program administrators
for assistance with resolving these disputes according
to the laws in effect in the local area.
